Wings are triangular sections that fit alongside the main ramp and allows for users to come from an angle and climb onto the main ramp. They are used to increase usability of ramps by providing side access, while also alleviating potential trip hazards.
Legend ( A = Height, B = Length)

- What gradient of ramps do I need?
Put simply, a gradient refers to the slope of the ramp. A 1:8 gradient means that for a step with a 100mm clearance, the length of the ramp will be 800mm. A 1:10 gradient means that for a step with a 100mm clearance, the length of the ramp will be 1000mm. The 1:8 gradient is steeper than the 1:10 gradient, however it requires a larger surface area and clearance.
- Can I order a custom ramp that is not 1:8/1:10 gradient?
All our standard ramps are made to either a 1:8 or 1:10 gradient. Custom ramps can be made to various gradients, however we recommend that ramps are made to a minimum gradient of 1:8, as this provides a slope that is easily manageable for users.
We will provide you with a gradient ratio on all your custom ramp quotations, and will happily discuss potential issues with your ramp requirements if applicable.
- What if I have two steps into my house?
Depending on the size and steepness of your steps, our threshold ramps have solutions that can cater for multiple steps. Please feel free to contact us to discuss tailored solutions to your unique scenario.
